If you’re looking for a full day of family fun, food, games, and activities, capped off with a breathtaking fireworks display over a pristine mountain lake, look no further. The Big Canoe 4th of July family day is one you’ll never forget. At 9:30 a.m. on the fourth, grab a cup of coffee and go to the Wildcat Recreation Area Basketball courts for the decorated bike parade, which will follow the patriotic dog parade at 9:00 a.m. After the parade awards, head on down to the Wildcat Soccer Field at 10:00 a.m. for the big celebration.
The Varsity will offer their legendary selection of food truck fare from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and there will be field games, bounce houses, spin art, a large water slide and slip-and-slide, a family photo booth, face painting, tug of war, water balloon toss games with prizes, balloon animals, and much more. Tickets will be needed for food and drinks and spin art, so make sure you stop by the ticket booth to pick up your tickets. The event ends at 2:00 p.m., leaving families plenty of time to enjoy our refreshing saltwater pools and lakeside activities. Whether it’s the Wildcat pools, the waterfront Swim Club at Lake Disharoon, or boating and kayaking on Lake Petit, there’s something for everyone to do.
Finish off this unforgettable July 4th holiday weekend with a relaxing evening at Playfield Park watching the beautiful fireworks show over Lake Petit. Be sure to claim your favorite spot with lawn chairs, blankets, or towels—and don’t forget your food, drinks, and lawn toys! The fireworks show starts around 9:30 p.m. Wishing you a safe and happy Independence Day!
